Not necessarily. There are slots in the FIX-FORK products (fork mounts and wheel holder), so you can easily mount on a wooden plate, for example, without using the alu-profile MP-100X16.

Nevertheless, using the alu-profile MP-100X16 allows for adjusting and fine-tuning the fork mounts and wheel holder positions.
